Renal involvement in Sjögren's syndrome is not rare. Sjögren's syndrome often cause tubulointerstitial nephritis and distal renal tubular acidosis. Hypokalemia is the most common electrolyte disorder in patients with distal tubular acidosis. The etiology in patients with hypokalemia, paralysis and distal renal tubule acidosis should be considered Sjögren's syndrome.
