Leukoencephalopathy with Brain Stem and Spinal Cord Involvement and Normal Lactate: Case ReportEdis Çolak, Cenk EraslanDepartment Of Radiology, Ege University, İzmir, TurkeyLeukoencephalopathy with brain stem and spinal cord involvement and high lactate (LBSL) is a recently identified leukoencephalopathy, first described by Van der Knaap in 2003. The disease has distinct magnetic resonance imaging findings including cerebral white matter abnormalities and selective brain stem and spinal cord tract involvement. There are usually increased lactate levels on magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) of the abnormal white matter. In this case report, we describe the clinical and radiological features of a patient with LBSL and normal lactate levels on MRS. Manyetik rezonans görütülemede serebral beyaz madde tutulumu ile birlikte, beyin sapı ve medulla spinalis traktuslarının tutulumu LBSL için tanı koydurucudur. Manyetik rezonans spektroskopide (MRS) laktat piki bildirilmiştir. Bu olgu sunumunda, MRS’de laktat piki göstermeyen, LBSL’in klinik ve radyolojik özellikleri tartışılmıştır.
